Age Brackets

The new Parry Sound Youth Baseball league is passionate about providing the youth of Parry Sound with opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive through the sport of baseball. We are thrilled to bring youth baseball to our community and look forward to seeing everyone on the field! Please find below a list of the age brackets with a brief description. 

Pre- T (U5), children born 2020-21  

The Pre-T program aims to give athletes an introduction to baseball's basic skills, while fostering fun and fair play. These young athletes will learn the beginning concepts of how to catch and hit a ball, while taking turns and learning sportsmanship. The U5 program will run for 8 weeks, once a week for 45 minutes.  

T-Ball (U7) , children born 2018-19

The U7 program will continue the fundamental skills of baseball and introduce game play. The first 5 weeks of this program will solely focus on the use of specific drills to develop their fielding skills, while improving their offensive skills through the use of a T stand. Athletes will learn game play through experience as their season progresses. Each session will be once a week for one hour, over the span of 13 weeks. 

U10, children born 2015-17

The U10 program not only progresses the development of all baseball techniques and skills in the first 5 weeks, but it introduces the hand eye component of batting with a coach pitcher. As the season carries on, U10 players will engage in game play. This program will run once a week for 1 hour for 13 weeks.  

U13/U16, children born 2009-14  

The U13 and U16 programs will begin with 5 weeks to practice skills. During this time, athletes will get the opportunity to take all positions into consideration, while engaging in a variety of drills. Athletes will be introduced or will continue to work on specific position skills, if applicable, athletes will engage in the sports strategy though game play. This program will take place once a week for 1.5 hours for 13 weeks.
